Distributing a wide variety of pet foods and pet related products K&W Distributing Co., Inc is located on State Route 20 in Clyde, Ohio. Founded by Kim Kohlenberg, in 1980 K&W continues to be a family owned and operated business. Utilizing their own fleet of trucks, K&W currently serves a customer base covering six states. (Map of OH, MI, IN, PA, KY, WV) Our expanding customer base includes retail stores, veterinarian clinics and kennels.

Founded in 1980 by Kim Kohlenberg, K&W began as a pet food distributor for Fremont, Ohio’s local dog kennels.  At K&W’s inception the company carried only one brand of dog food, Star Dog Food.  Initially, it was Kim Kohlenberg himself who completed all of the local deliveries in his 1977 pickup truck.  

With the addition of Diamond Pet Food products, K&W Distributing experienced immediate and rapid growth in its customer base.  With this consistently expanding area of service, K&W’s shared 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse quickly filled to capacity.  In 1988 a 3,200 square foot addition was made to that facility.  By 1995 increased demand for K&W’s services made another building expansion a necessity.  With the construction of a new facility, warehouse capacity increased to 18,500 square feet.  Once more in 1999, in order to better accommodate their customers, K&W moved to a 59,000 square foot warehouse.  This additional space allowed K&W to add a greater variety of manufacturers and products to the company’s inventory, as well as increase, its valued and efficient employee base.   

With a strong drive and desire to effectively meet the needs and demands of the growing pet food and pet products market, Kohlenberg made the decision to again expand the company’s office and warehouse.  In 2005, K&W Distributing Co. Inc. constructed a new facility in Clyde, Ohio and currently occupies a 91,000 square foot warehouse, and employs a workforce of 45 employees, including four outside sales representative.
